NORM ALL

The Norm-ALL house is a space designed for the co-existence of three sisters, each with their own PECULIARITY of having EXCESSIVE body functions and behavior (light sensitive, reading addict, and ground phobic).

Society might regard this as “not normal” but we all have some kind of unique physical aspect or excessive behavior that is distinctive.

In other words, THERE IS NO NORMAL.

Taken from the typical house silhouette “gable roof”, the house is intended to look normal but is fitted for each of the sister’s peculiarity – capable of controlling light, a bookshelf structure itself, infinitely scalable, and, at some extent, floorless.

While the central circulation is focused on co-existing and blending, each sister has their own bespoke rooms protruding and discernable (upon your second glance).

STRESSLESS HOUSE

Decompression House

Our group focus on human stress. People usually reduce their stress in two ways , one is moving in dynamic way.the other one is staying in static .We reflected these two ways in our character setting. Also, the site included the out-site dynamic and the in-site static, which correspond our characters life style and living environment. Therefore, we use 700 level difference to devise their living area and propose different using ways in function room..also by mixed each extending living zone to south side to connect the site environment

BREATHING

Living with the Invisible Air Movement

A house for two different characters, one suffering from hay fever and the other being an action painter. The observation and analysis of their behavior led to the conclusion that air and its movement is an important element in both behaviors, which can be exploited to improve their lives. The idea was therefore to design a breathing house, where the whole acts as a machine that generates/filters/extracts/heats/cools the air according to the behavior, through furniture and a system, where the movement of the air improves their lifestyle.

LIFE PERFORMANCE

Living in spacial voids carved through unique movements

Two performers in flux – one spinning, one climbing. Their living environment is defined by a balance of solid and void. An originally solid block, spatially subtracted by the motions of the spinner, acting almost like a mill, constitute an unconventional place for living. Spaces shaped by the motion of spinning, circular in their nature, in one continuous fluent place. The remaining volume being reminiscent of rauks, a column-like stone pylon eroded by the sea. Not only are the structures a true climber’s dream to cling onto, but the confined void into which one pushes and compresses to sustain oneself further caters to the behaviour.
